Being consistent – still! This time, digging in a little deeper on the first step!

I love how you honor different processing styles and so many emotions. Honoring is validating, and people who have not been validated because they experience the world different may not even know what it means to have someone listen to them. That was what it was like for me. I felt that no one listened to me and that no one would ever listen to me. Even I was struggling to listen to me over all of that background noise that I can’t tune out. Listening and acceptance are truly everything, and I love this blog post. Thank you so much, Florence.

You’re welcome Alice. Every brain is different and the more people acknowledge and honor that, the better the world will be for more people.

HI Florence, I was not able to comment on your post. This was an interesting read. It’s true, that I find myself remember things that I can connect with in some way.

I couldn’t find any comment box in your blog so I’m commenting here. Yes, I struggle with letting go of books. I think of all of them as my friends, but, sometimes, the best choice is to send your friend out into the world to find new friends and new homes. Sharing truly is caring, and when you give away those books, you are sharing and you are caring.

Hi Kathi, I wasn’t able to comment on your blog post. This was an interesting read on asking better questions and the importance of staying open and curious.

I love to write, so I thought that I would offer you a creative writing exercise. The goal is to combat writer’s block!!!

I hope my comment section is working now. Here is today’s post. What did you splurge on for yourself while holiday shopping? https://lifewithoutamanual.org/shop-talk-and-a-big-splurge/

Great blog—so playful and light. You’ve converted me. I will have to try one of those pencils. And yes, writers love to talk shop, don’t we? And I love em dashes! There should be a key on the keyboard them! Not a combination I had to memorize!

    • Tamara on January 6, 2026 at 10:21 am

      I still couldn’t comment..!?
      Here’s what I said:

Elisa, I’m surprised you still need actual pens as a writer! I quite like stationery too, but I haven’t written anything long by hand since college; editing on a computer is just so much easier. I’ve never heard of Blackwing pencils. What makes them so special? You should enjoy them, people don’t need to understand. I haven’t bought anything for myself lately, though I did splurge on something recently; it’s a bit of a story, maybe I’ll blog about it soon.
